Aardvark
Hi, all! T-54B in the museum and memorial complex "Patriot":🤤😦 Resource (and more photo here): https://yuripasholok.livejournal.com/12859280.html Ofcource it's a not "perspective Russian Arctic camouflage" (it's was my sarcasm), but ofcource this madness for modeller's & decal designer! 😁 In my opinion, some people should never be allowed into military equipment with paint in their hands! TonyW
A bit like the British Army Berlin scheme, only more suited to Brighton.
Aardvark
For understanding, what was the inspiration: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gzhel but as for me, what is good for a porcelain ( as for my it's really cool and expensive) tea set : or on a girl: is absolutely not suitable for a tank! B.R. Serge P.S. In the museum and memorial complex "Patriot" also have T-62 painting under Khokhloma*: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Khokhloma ____________ * - this post is sponsored by Western medical clinics specializing in the treatment of dislocation of the tongue! 😁😁😁 1
zigster
Funny.. I really like that tank! I'd rather see - somebody put an idea to work, than an old hulk going for scrap. This is Kubinka, my friends. Whatever you think of Soviets, they did take care of preserving a lot of stuff. A thing, Allied guys never thought about. Finished - scrape it! Sure, there is T-54 in green inside Kubinka. So, boys, relax, and glue some bits together. Z

Muddyf
When the heroic defence of Gzhel ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gzhel ) was required, this tank was VERY useful and the camo blended in perfectly! I would be surprised if there are a few British versions of these around Stoke!

Aardvark
An unexpected plot twist!😲 It looks like an epidemic!😢😁 "MOSCOW, August 10 - RIA Novosti. Russian spaceships can be decorated with Khokhloma and Gzhel to preserve the traditions of Russian folk craft, said Dmitry Rogozin, general director of Roscosmos, in Yuri Kostin's "Personal Communications" program on YouTube." https://ria.ru/amp/20200810/1575583674.html?__twitter_impression=true Interestingly, below the article on the link, contextual advertising: "Do not mix vodka with beer!" 😁😁 ... it looks like this article about vodka and beer is for those who painted the T-54B and are going to paint the spaceships for Gzhel! 😉😁 B.R. Flankerman
Great photos Serge - I think we visted the Gzhel pottery during one of my many aviation trips to Russia - on the way to an Aeroflot training base somewhere..... Other 'Pretty' tanks are available..... These two at the Great Patriotic War Museum in Kiev - photographed in 2006...... (now covered in graffiti)........ and... the Russians hold an annual 'Tank Biathlon' for crews from Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus and Armenia - with each country having a different coloured tank.... This is my attempt at modelling them..... Tanks for looking... Kyen
