bianfuxia
I moved this one along today, too. Windows and doors attached. Let's see how the door rails are once it's all dry - perhaps the sliding doors will work rather than just falling off. I seem to be missing one exhaust pipe which didn't survive my recent move. Still hopeful I can knock this over by the end of the weekend, especially as it doesn't really have many decals.
bianfuxia
This is as far as I have made it with this one. The decals are typical 70s Airfix - no good then and certainly no good 40 years later. But somehow I got them on. The roundels will need some touch-up paint to cover the white bit that shouldn't be there. I've managed to lose one of the exhaust pipes and also, more annoyingly, the tail fin. I also managed to get glue on the top window. So all in all, not my best build. It's an older kit so there is that, but in the end I just didn't finish this one that well.
bianfuxia
Well, I figured I still had some time to get this into the gallery as it said it locked automatically at 10am Monday. Apparently not. But FWIW here is the last two steps I did: First I made a tailfin out of card to stand in until i can find the actual piece. Then I used a green marker to tint the top windows to cover up the hideous glue blemish I left there - noob mistake! (I am not a noob, I've been doing this since the early 80s, but I really made a noob mistake on this! hahaha). I don't know if a Lynx really had tinted top windows but it seems like it would make sense and other than this post, no-one who ever sees this model will even recognize it as a Lynx, much less identify if that's correct. I mean, I'll be thrilled if they say "nice helicopter" instead of "why doesn't that plane have wings". Anyway: And so here, rather than in the gallery, are my pics of my finished AH.1 Lynx. (This one shows an interesting point about colour perception. The orange on the door is exactly the same as the orange on the boom. The camera has rendered them differently presumably due to different angle of light on the surface relative to the camera....or something. All those arguments about what is exactly the right colour for something are kinda pointless really).
