Winter War Swedish volunteers camo

I always thought it was silver, and the black and white photos show reflections in the light areas. However, in the profiles of the May 2020 magazine of Scale Aircraft Modeling, it indicates that it is white. (?). Thanks for your clarifications

It was silver paint sprayed on top of standard Swedish camouflage of green and light blue-grey.

Note that the preserved Gladiator in the Swedish Air Force museum is painted incorrectly. The split between upper and lower colours should be about halfway up on the fuselage!

(The green and light blue-grey camouflage. Not the silver which goes all the way down on the fuselage!)

By the way!

If you are building a Swedish/Finnish Gladiator this new set from AIMS seems to be quite nice!

As far as I know it is available in 1:48 and 1:32 scale.

I've ordered a set in 1:48 and I'm looking forward to see if it's as nice as it looks. 🙂

Check out this great collection of photos from the F 19 volunteers.

There are quite a few interesting pictures there.

Good luck!

Hello!

Silver camo stripes over the original Swedish green / grey camouflage.

Cheers,

Kari

I thought it was vice versa ?

Weren't the Swedish planes painted silver then ?

The Swedish Air Force aircraft was camouflaged when WW2 started.

I've read somewhere that all but the first five Gladiators were delivered in the green upper and light blue-grey under scheme.

Thanks.

I like the little saunas they built for the engines:
