Mike Esposito
Serious? New tool? 😎🤗
Silver Seraph
That is got to be the nicest box-art I have ever seen ! Nice release from Roden, considering how scarce the Hobbycraft kit is.
Mike Esposito
Not to mention how inaccurate the Hobbycraft kit is! Wing Dihedral all wrong! HC depicts a negative dihedral, when it should be perfectly straight. Wing join to fuselage wrong Terrible engine cowlings of the P&W Wasps
Silver Seraph
Thanks, I did not even know how inaccurate the Hobbycraft kit was. This Roden new tool seem to be more than welcome indeed. I just hope they refine a bit their panel lines, some of them are a touch too wide for 1/144 IMHO (Britannia comes to mind).

Mike Esposito
Yes. I have the Hobbycraft kit in the stash. Will gladly donate it when the Roden kit comes out. The hobbycraft kit can be "fixed" but lots of work involved to fix the dihedral. No way to fix the wing join atop the fuselage.
dnl42
Woohoo! Gladly replace my HC GRB-36 with a Roden version!!!
HMSLion
Hopefully they'll do a B-36D. It'll be interesting to see if they do defensive armament...or a bomb load.
593jones
Great news! Always been a fan of the B36 since I saw 'Strategic Air Command'. I had the Hobbycraft kits but sold them on as I didn't want to waste my life correcting the errors!
Mike Esposito
From the artwork, looks like a B. Want to see the Magnesium Overcast with 6 'turnin and 4 'burnin! 😂😎 Edited June 25, 2020 by Mike Esposito
busnproplinerfan
Finally some nice box art. good thing I never bought the HC kit yet. You wouldn't even see panel lines in 1/144, maybe a gentle scrape of a knife.

Albeback52
Must be a typo? Surely they meant 1/72?😉😂 Allan 1

Mike
Shame it wasn't in 1:48 Someone was gonna - might as well be me. I know about the HpH kit BTW. 1
Mike Esposito
1/48?😯 Better buy an extension/addition! 🤣
SAT69
Having built the Monogram B-36 so many years ago, I'd genuinely welcome a re-release of that kit. I thought it was a nice build. And from that past perspective, I thought it was pretty accurate too.

I don't know how realistic the prospect of a brand new tooled item is but, I'd personally settle even for a reissue of the 1/72 Revell /Monogram kit in lieu of a new one. I built one already, many years ago and, it was a nice, trouble free build if, a tad large! 😂 I had to custom make a shelf for it!! I've actually got one of the Revell kits part built. I'm not a fan of N M finishes so, I'm either going to do a SAC camouflaged version (which obviously didn't exist!) or, an RAF machine on DG/MSG/PRU Blue finish (which also, obviously didn't exist)! Actually,, I think it would look gorgeous in the RAE Raspberry Ripple colours! 😂 Allan Edited June 26, 2020 by Albeback52
JeffreyK
Great news! Not enough into the B-36 to get an HPH 1:48 kit and 1:72 isn’t my scale. So 1:144 is always a nice compromise and can’t be “confused” with 1:48 in the display case

I've built a couple in the past, you still get them on Ebay and other places, I much prefer the original Monogram boxing with that stunning artwork. I would like to see a brand new tooled 72nd scale Peacemaker though!
Flankerman
I converted my 1/72nd Monogram B-36 into a GRB-36 'FICON' - using an Italeri kit to make an RF-84K...... Although the photo says '2000', the model was built in 1981 - unbelievably, nearly 40 years ago...!! How time flies...... Ken
