Filler
Great photos Tim. I especially appreciate the CH-53G shot of the inside. Confirms that the soundproofing material (if that is what it is) was fitted in the eighties as all references I’d found up to now were CH-53GS shots from the 2010’s. I bet there’s some great stories to go with all those photos.
Jur
I took the opportunity of a glorious sunny day to go for a ride on my new motorbike to the Museum of Army Flying in Middle Wallop, Wiltshire. I spent a couple of hours looking at the numerous helicopters (and other machines) on display. Here is a selection of the pictures I took, perhaps they are of some use to someone. On the whole this is a very nice museum situated on an airfield established in 1940 and still in use as an Army Air Corps training centre, between Andover and Salisbury. There are two large halls displaying actual helicopters and aircraft plus a number of smaller galleries containing numerous other objects. Most of the machines seem to be in good condition, only the last pictures of the Westland Scout are of the rather sad looking wreck on display outside, they seem to let it just rot away. I presume it is meant to alert passing motorists to the museum and perhaps tempt them to a visit? In any case, it is worth going there if you are in the neighborhood and have a few hours to spare. 2
Ol' Scrapiron
I see some Cobra builds going on, so I offer some shots I have taken at various museums and air shows. Hopefully some little detail will pop out and be of use or inspiration. stevej60
Superb photo's what a finish on the Seaking and would you not love a kit of the Mohave from a mainstream manufacturer? Sadly my second kit hit the wall so I've boxed up the Cyberhobby one for another day.
