No but I did watch a program where Heston Blumenthal cooked a pig in a jacuzzi.

Why do I have this image of Miss Piggy singing "Tiny Bubbles"? Welp I'll not be able to remove THAT image from my poor brain.

If I can make a replacement for the snartringer we should have that 'back on the road' by Saturday week.

Fingies crossed...

My MGB GT was once immobilized for 6 weeks because a new snartringer had to be ordered from the U.K. I think it came from Lucas.

I don't blame you keeping it off the road all that time...

And I am not going to go into the benefits of MG Midget driving over driving your old bus.😀

😰😰😰

The snartringer has a weird vertical thread, good job I have diamond needle files

I'm 6 feet tall! I couldn't fit in a Midget. I tried. The MGB GT fit me like a glove.

I don't remember any vertical thread on the replacement snartringer, but it did require a negative ground/earth.

Hey! Stop with the negative vibes, Man.

Tell that to Lucas Electrical!

Q: Why do the British drink (yuk!) warm beer?

A: Because Lucas makes their refrigerators!

The MGB was my first experience with Lucas electrics. I thought the two negative-earthed six-volt batteries in series were weird enough, having been raised in a Chevrolet-owning family, but I was really freaked out the first time I took it through a car wash. As I drove away, I couldn't help but notice that all of the gauges were pegged at zero. "What the f***?" I said, loud enough for pedestrians to hear. Just as I was about to alter my route to take the car to the local British auto dealer to have it checked out, everything sprang back into life as if by magic. The next day I reported this to the co-worker from whom I had purchased the car, and he laughed. That was my introduction to Lucas, Prince of Darkness, inventor of the short circuit.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was feeding the Llama yesterday and noticed that some of the yellow and black paint is starting to peel. Can we arrange a work party to rectify said issue?

At the same time, perhaps we could do a bit of gardening for Martian, or even scrape the barnacles off his boat (NO, that is NOT a euphemism).

Hope you are well oh tentacled one, take it easy, we have everything under control...

That's Because @corsaircorp thinned the paint with some out of date Belgian beer!

Contact @general melchett He can send Baldrick or Captain Darling around to give it a good rub down.

For Barnacles we have @Ex-FAAWAFU

I was speaking to @general melchett yesterday and we decided that I should try and give you  another health update. It has been a torrid week on the mental health front but yesterday was a good day and so far, I am feeling OK today. I have an appointment with an different psychologist on Tuesday which I am frightened of but Mrs Martian says she is going to sit in on the meeting.

I have realised that my mojo is not lacking, it is just fatigue and my shot to pieces concentration that is hampering things. That said, I have made the occasional foray into the modelling room and sorted out the fin shape on the T4. I have also got a load of the PE on my Lynx. I have also been trying to build the Horizon Models Redstone Mercury and although progress is somewhat slower than a tectonic plate that is having an off day, I have been enjoying the short periods I have spent on the model.

Hey Dear tentacled one !! Glad to hear from you !

My Canberras are still in idle since I still wait for the Alley cat parts !

I did'nt thinned the Llama paint with belgian beer, You know that rocket fuel is never out of date...

Just a bit stronger !!

Take care, step by step, I clearly understand you since, I took this road years ago.

Lots of best wishes for your recovery !!

Good to hear that you are making forays into the modelling mancave as can be therapeutic.  It has been my help during this current situation.  I can appreciate the anxiety re the new psychiatrist,  but it will be fine i am sure, just take things one step or day at a time.

I said all along that we should have shaved the 'to-be-black-striped' area so the black paint would get a proper key.

No no no you all said, Ced must be right about the paint job...

(I'll say no more, right)

Take your time Martian, we've got all day.

Every day.

Good to know you are getting in the way of it too, little and not too often huh.

Great news about the update Martain! Good to hear you've gotten a few bits and bobs on. Don't worry about your seeing the new specialist. I for one am glad that its Mrs. Martian going with you and not the General or CC. God knows what type of shenanigans would transpire in the office with then along. But a vision of the Marquis Chimps comes to mind. I know I just dated myself again🤔 Either way Its good to hear that there is a positive upswing to your health and that is always the best news.

Good to hear from you Martian, and rest assured we are all sending our best wishes. Don't fret about the new doc, alternative viewpoints and all that. Just be thankful it's not the General, I don't even want to think about what he, Darling, and Baldrick could come up withbetween them!

Chin chin old chap!

That progress. Good to hear you are on the mend. Mental health is ( and what with COVID and the lockdowns) a major issue and as a society we’re not good at  dealing with it.

On a semi related note. There’s an add that keeps running on the radio here with Sonia O’Sulivan and some other guy for a mental health help website and I swear I’ve heard it a hundred times and I still can’t make out the web address :(

Stay safe and get well and we’ll try and keep the thread warm till you’re better.
