beefy66
Now tell me how did you order them I would normally get them through Coastal Craft at one of the model shows but that’s not happening any time soon can I order directly from Al. 🤔 The details look very crisp just as good as the 1/72 stuff I have beefy

There are a number of options thought they may take a bit of searching Italeri 1/35 5616 WWII British Royal Navy Vosper MTB Crew (7 Figures) https://www.scalemates.com/kits/wee-friends-wf35015-wwii-royal-navy-lcm-commander--543218 https://www.scalemates.com/kits/wee-friends-wf35014-wwii-british-royal-navy-sailor-with-aldis-lamp--543217 https://wildcatsmodels.com/figures/15160-d-day-miniature-350321-35royal-navy-officer-1939-45-1-figure.html HTH Kev
FlyingSpanner
Yeah I have the Italeri figures on order, but as I’m building a med boat I’m not sure whether they’ll get used this time around. Same reason I haven’t yet bought the wee friends figures. I may end up converting some miniart jeep crew. It would just be great to get some more naval figures in 1/35
longshanks
Good on you One point I will mention. Many discard figures in heavy weather for Med use. In fact the med can be be cold in winter or at night, I speak from experience Good luck Kev
FlyingSpanner
Thanks 👍 I have spent time in coastal North Africa and the levant in all seasons, and getting snowed on in Algiers came as a surprise, so I can appreciate that it’s not all sun and margaritas. Having recently reread MGB658 I am mindful of the huge variety in uniform and battle dress, as well as wet weather gear, so aim to capture that mix if I can

Beefy - https://www.model-dockyard.com/acatalog/1-144-Scale-Crew-Figures.html Rob Presently, the 1/144 sets are only available from Model Dockyard (Thanks Nick!). The range needs to grow and become established before it's of interest to other retailers. However, I have the Italieri Vosper Crew - very disappointing (particularly having regard to the price). Thread here: I suggest that a better starting point is a set (or two) of Hornet heads from Historex Agents (or Ultracast in Canada) https://historexagents.com/#HBH/8 and then look to Mini Art or Masterbox sets of figures that can be converted by simply filing off uniform detail (for example the Mini Art set of Afrika Korps tank crew appears to have potential for RN crew in the Med - they're bare-chested figures in shorts) Again thanks for the support and kind comments. Al Gunthwaite
Hi Folks Just a note to say that whilst the 1/144 figures have been unavailable for some time (due to Coastal Craft and Model Dockyard closing), I'm pleased that they are now available again from Halifax Modellers World (with the rest of the Gunthwaite range). Hardcastle
@Al Gunthwaite Are these resin (both the 72nd and 144th sets) or are they in white metal - the website is not clear on this. These are good looking figures, just a bit pricey with the Rand-Pound rate of almost 20 at the moment Thanks Tim
Al Gunthwaite
Hi Tim Due to life getting in the way, my website has not been updated (hence not showing the 1/144 figures). The 1/144 sets are resin. 1/72 scale figures are white metal except for WW1 RAF figures which are resin. Sorry about the exchange rate! Irrespective, the figures are more expensive than I would like them to be. Unfortunately they have to be priced at that point to be viable to produce. Cheers Al
pequa1
this yank wants to thank you gents for inviting me here. I am making the Revell Snowberry in 1/144 and decided it needed a complement. ordered this: https://www.shapeways.com/product/SHNE8Z4G7/1-144-royal-navy-seamen-set111 HMCS Snowberry will be my first Canadian model since I made a destroyer (Iroquois?) out of cardboard as a teen in the 1960s. Cheers. Edited July 10, 2022 by pequa1
