East Africa, WWI photos

Hi all,

 

My uncle recently discovered some photos taken by my Grandfather when he was serving in Dar-es-Salaam during WWI. One of the ships is clearly named, any ideas on what the others may be?

 

 

 

Not sure if those are both the same vessel, but i think it's likely.

 

 

 

I'm assuming that they were all taken in Dar-es-Salaam, but the standard route from the UK was via South Africa, with a stop there, so it's possible they could have been taken at that stopover.

 

I hope you find them interesting, you're the first to see them outside of my family! There are 30 or so more pics but none of ships.

I think the 3rd one down might be HMS Repulse, the huge columns supporting that side platform are a giveaway I feel.

Thank you for these. My grandfather fought in East Africa, with the 25th. HI am not sure what ship took him there but he took far longer to get there than in any fighting. Luckily.
