opus999
Fantastic job! I am impressed by the realism! I especially love what you did with the wing roots. I've got this same kit in my stash, hope it turns out half as good as this.

canberraman
A masterclass in brush painting - you really must give us a lesson in how to achieve such a fantastic finish and exquisite restrained weathering. Simply lovely! Mark
AndyC
I love a Griffon engined Spit and this Mark is my favourite...that laminar-flow wing and the sheer brute power up front...great
Graham Boak
The Spiteful/Seafang had the "laminar flow" wing. The 20 series had the aerodynamic shape of the standard wing with the extended wingtips, just clipped a little. They did have a redesigned structure for higher dive speeds and stiffer to resist twist, plus simply hinged ailerons instead of the Frise kind. Plus the new undercarriage and all the rest...

Question - I brush paint myself and am therefore interested in knowing what/how you highlighted the panel lines Regards Dave Hi Dave. Thank you very much for your comments and your question. With regards the panel lines - the process I went through for painting the aircraft and doing the panel lines can be found in this post in my Work In Progress thread: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235071411-supermarine-spitfire-f-mk22-airfix-172-finished-and-in-the-gallery/&do=findComment&comment=3716903 You will need to scroll down a bit. Bedders
Really rather lovely. It's great little kit (Airfix what have you done with it, it's disappeared!) and you've really made it shine with all the extra bits & bobs. Super-nifty brush work to polish it off. Horatio Gruntfuttock
A bit late to this build but I can only echo the praise heaped upon your work Stix, a truly lovely bit of work and I am deeply envious of your brush work skills.
