A masterclass in brush painting - you really must give us a lesson in how to achieve such a fantastic finish and exquisite restrained weathering. Simply lovely!

I love a Griffon engined Spit and this Mark is my favourite...that laminar-flow wing and the sheer brute power up front...great

The Spiteful/Seafang had the "laminar flow" wing.  The 20 series had the aerodynamic shape of the standard wing with the extended wingtips, just clipped a little.  They did have a redesigned structure for higher dive speeds and stiffer to resist twist, plus simply hinged ailerons instead of  the Frise kind.  Plus the new undercarriage and all the rest...

Outstanding, Spitfire Stix - your brush painting is truly outstanding.

Question - I brush paint myself and am therefore interested in knowing what/how you highlighted the panel lines

Regards

Dave

Hi Dave. Thank you very much for your comments and your question.

With regards the panel lines - the process I went through for painting the aircraft and doing the panel lines can be found in this post in my Work In Progress thread:

You will need to scroll down a bit.

Please let me know if anything requires clarification.

Really rather lovely. It's great little kit (Airfix what have you done with it, it's disappeared!) and you've really made it shine with all the extra bits & bobs. Super-nifty brush work to polish it off.

Fantastic job! I am impressed by the realism!  I especially love what you did with the wing roots.   I've got this same kit in my stash, hope it turns out half as good as this.

Hi opus999. I hope you are well. Thank you very much for your most kind comments.
