Having just ordered Revell’s F3, I’m looking to go down the route of making a 1435 QRA example of the Tornado. To that end I have two questions for those more knowledgeable than myself.
1. Are there any decal sets for 1435 Tornados in 1/48?

2. What was the standard QRA weapons load for the F3?

Many thanks

Quick search on Hannants and I came up up with this

https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/MKD48011?result-token=ky2jr

Only one in 1/48th that I could find out of 35 search results!

Regarding the weapons fit out - you might want to check out the Tornado SIG's pages - https://www.tornadosig.com/

Lots of info on those pages.

These may help Harry, and are also a good excuse to enjoy some excellent photography; it looks like the Tornado is carrying a QRA fit of four AIM-120 AMRAM missiles and four AIM-132 ASRAAM missiles.

Weapons fit would depend on timeframe,

Skyflash and AIM-9L  or AMRAAM/ASRAAM, maybe even AMRAAM/AIM-9L.

Wasn't the Asraam integrated before the Amraam?

So Skyflash/ Asraam ?

At least I have one modeled like that...

I thought it was the other way round? Both entered service in 1998, so suppose it depends on how quick they were rolled out. I’ve seen AMRAAM/AIM-9 but not Skyflash/ASRAAM(but may very well be feasible).

I've just ordered these https://uprise-decal.ru/tornadoadv/novyy-tovar for my 1/48 Tonka.

It took a few weeks, but they look just right - four 1435 Flt Options, but you will have to use the Revell stencils etc for the rest of the decal fit.

Very interesting , those look nice!

Never heard of them though..

Let us know your experience please

Have a look here:

Even as late as Telic in 2003 it was Skyflash + Asraam!

From what I've got, they look properly done and equal to anything other decal manufacturers produce.

From what I can remember, the whole thing cost about £11-12 which included the postage from Russia.

The person who produces them has aspirations to produce other 1/48 Tornado F3 silk-screen decal options - worth getting in touch via the website..

Marrying up ASRAAM and then AMRAAM with the Tornado F.3 was a rather drawn out process , the following link from January 2006 describes the first test firings of AMRAAM from the F,3 during the previous month  so the Op Telic load of ARAAM and Skyflash mentioned carried on for a while afterwards.

http://www.defense-aerospace.com/article-view/release/65736/tornado-f3-fires-upgraded-amraam-(jan-12).html

Among my own photos I have QRA fit aircraft from Leuchars in ASRAAM/Skyflash in June 2006 but ASRAAM/AMRAAM by December 2009.

By late AIM-9 service and onwards to the ASRAAM the inboard of the pylon carried missiles would have been carried on a BOL launch rail/dispenser and also it is worth searching out actual images of the Falklands based aircraft to be modeled as I am sure that I have read that they did not always carry a full load of missiles for weight reasons due to potential crosswinds and runway icing when landing back at Mount Pleasant.

Just because, an interesting shot from above, taken by a Russian aircraft, which shows the BOLs:
