petetasker
Another variation by Mini Art of their lovely 1/35 Cierva C.30a kit. Mini Art market this one as an ‘early production’ Leo C.30. The early aircraft delivered to the French military were actually Avro built Genet Major powered machines rather than the later true Leo variants (note the Leo built machines were a very different aircraft with a Salmson engine, propellor, a modified nose, tail wheel and additional tail surfaces). I opted for one of the colourful early French Navy machines of 3S2. It’s a lovely scheme and adds a nice splash of colour to the cabinet. The kit includes four options, two French Navy, a single Armee de l’Air and a Belgian Army machine, all as already noted Avro built rather than Leo. Mini Art seem to have also got confused by 3S2 Squadron (French Navy) referring to it throughout the instructions as ‘352’. Love this kit - that’s number five with a sixth already on the bench. Hope it’s of interest.
