The Italian Job GB

JOCKNEY

Recommended Posts

A while ago while discussing the next potential Classic Kit GB, the idea formed of combining Italeri, Esci, Supermodel etc into its own Classic GB.

I apologise, I dropped the ball on this one and should have started a thread earlier.

The trouble is I started thinking about an Italian Job GB, that included all things Italian, just imagine the possibilities

Bikes

Ducati, Moto Guzzi, Lambretta, Piaggio

Cars

Fiat, Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Iso Grifo, Lancia, Alfa Romeo

Aircraft

Fiat, Breda, Cant, Piaggio, Savoia

You get the idea, so is it Italian Kits, or all things Italian ?

What do you think ?

It's funny you bring this up......

Not 2 hours ago I was picturing in my head doing a little dio of Italeri's 1/72 church (currently in the stash) w/ a pair of Italian Starfighters buzzing the steeple (ordered not half hour ago).  :rofl2:

I'm in!

You'd better start a list.

FWIW, I'd be up for an Italeri/ESCI/Supermodel GB.

TBH though, I think @stevej60 is pushing Revellogram for the next Classic GB.

I'd be up for it Pat as Wez mentioned the Revellogram GB is proposed but it's gone a bit quiet at the moment.

Time to give it a prod Steve.

I'd be up for all things Italian (does it have to be Italian made, or Italian operated?) or Italeri.

My understanding is any or all of the above.  It sounds like it started out as an Italeri GB, then the stone at the top of the mountain triggered an avalanche that quickly expanded to encompass all things Italian.  At least that was how I interpreted it.

As things are developing, I'm tempted to include both Italian kits AND Italian objects

As that way we cover all the bases, however we are loosing the focus on the Classic Kits side of things which has been so successful so far ? :hmmm:

I'd be in for this whatever the final format is. Have some things in the stash and some projects I'd love an excuse for either way. Sadly, my mirror says I'm already working on  a 1:1 scale model of Pavarotti 😕

If Italian kits are an option, I'd be up for it. Plenty of Italeri C-130s in the stash :D

Go large or Go home

I like your style !

I do have a 1/48 ESCI (1980) US-3A COD squirreled away if it goes the "classic" Italian manufacturer route.  Also have a 2008 Italeri S-3A/B boxing of the same kit.  I'd certainly not have any complaints about building one of them.

It's a tough challenge Andy but I managed it so you can too :D

Please all things Italian, I have an SM.79 from Classic Airframes brought in error for a BoB GB and a Lebanese decal sheet from Scandinavia to go with it.
