silverkite211
Back before Classic Airframes and Hasegawa brought out TA-4 kits in 1/48 scale you were limited to the old Fujimi kit, which, in the event was actually 1/50 scale and rather lacking in detail. This is a kit bash of A monogram A-4E for the nose just ahead of the wheel well and the aft fuselage at the point that the fuselage could be separated on the actual aircraft to gain access to the powerplant, mated to the cockpit section of a OA-4M with the avionics hump modified for use as the fuselage spine aft of the cockpit. Decals are a combination of donated Hasegawa decals and aftermarket national insignia. I had to paint the stripe on the fuselage to match the color of red that I used for the fin, nose and wings. I need to give the drop tanks another coat of white before I attach them. The beauty of doing this conversion is that I can use the other sections of fuselages to make a A-4M, so there's nothing wasted.
