Wonderful job, and I also was in the crowd when it and the blue one came in, I just fell in love with both of them.

 

I also had the same problem with the Modeldecal sheet when I did a different Mirage back in the Mirage GB.

I did almost exactly as you did, washing the glue off then applying the decals without any, good that they have the strength to be able to do that.

The decals are fairly robust thankfully but it is a bit tedious to have to do that even with the smallest of stencils. I then put the decal on over fresh wet Klear and press it down as usual. I then put another coat of Klear on top to seal it into the surface. It usually eliminates slivering as well.

Yes, that's more or less what I had to do with each one. Gently brushing that scummy sediment off.

Shame you can't give the whole sheet a wash to do it all in one go!
