TheyJammedKenny!
Looks good, Moa. But wait, there is more! 😆 For the same price!: Five models completed and waiting for things stuck in the mail for the last touches: Six more models in progress as open threads here at BM: Two DH60s, Macchi M.39, Sikorsky S.51, two Dragon Rapide on floats, And of course this one, the Norseman. So, juggling 12 models and, on top of that having to restrain @Martian, @72modeler, @general melchett, and so many others, this is a FULL TIME JOB! 3

fjaweijfopi4j48
The areas that receive the control surfaces are slotted. I real pleasure. May be current manufacturers could learn a trick or two from these decades-old molds. I rather build this kit, even with it's shortcomings (rib detail, for example) than contemporary kits that leave a lot be desired: The wings and tail are assembled. The tail parts will be glued in place to be colored as a whole, but I think the wings, that are painted in the same color, will be left apart until later to facilitate airbrushing and avoid too much masking:

Vingtor
You are doing a very good job, Moa! It is really inspiring to see your work. I take the liberty to share a few photos of a model I built some years ago. Nils

Donor is currently missing. That neatly solves the engine/"which cowling?" problem. I've got the Modelcraft? 1/48, which seems to be inspired by the Matchbox kit, though it features, if anything, "enhanced" fabric-over-ribs detail. It, too, is apparently a mix of Mk.IV and Mk.VI with a bit of "No Norseman" added in for good measure. My daughter sometimes says that I should build "that floatplane", and since she (Zoe) is half Finnish, if I ever muster the courage I'm going to do a fictional registration of 'OH-ZOE'. fjaweijfopi4j48
This year the Monarchs are very late and extremely low in numbers. This is consistent with reports from many other places in California. Last year they were decimated by a parasitic tachinid fly.

Thanks, Jörgen. A bit more will follow on that later on. Cheers The Norseman had sheeted leading edges, this is incorporated on the wings. Some detail is also added: There were scissor hinges (from the spares), and the tanks had some detail too which will be added later on those drilled locations:

I'm sure it's anything but, especially with the orange. Well, with the gloss white base it wasn't difficult. Reasonable dilution and pressure (for my compressor, airbrush, paint, etc., always some subjectivity and brand-related settings and choices, no universal formula, unfortunately). But not all is roses: The airbrush started to hiccup as I was applying the aluminium lacquer on the fuselage (all the other metal parts went ok), and I got some unsightly splotches and texture in some minute areas -as the lacquer droplets "ate" the enamel there- . So: will have to wait, lightly sand, even more lightly sand, clean, re-apply. The usual game we are so used to. The work is never really done. Sigh... 2
