1/72 Meng F-102A - 509th FIS, Thailand 1969

Recommended Posts

Just finished over this weekend.  This Meng kit was a pleasure to build, well engineered, good fitting and lovely surface detail.  You can have the internal weapons bay open but I much prefer the clean, sleek lines with it closed.

Airbrushed free hand using Tamiya acrylics for the uppers and Vallejo for the really light grey belly.  The decals went on perfectly over the gloss coat and everything sealed with Xtracrylics varnish.  There is a large black and yellow banded decal for across the upper fuselage but I didn't like the look of it so left it off.

A very nice and large model to have in my collection.

Cheers all,

Phil

Thanks chaps.  I am using a H&S Evo 2 in 1 ATM.  Sprayed this using the .2mm needle.  Tamiya acrylics work really well for me with this brush.

Wonderfully done. Nice to hear it's an easy build. After building the Monogram 1/48 version, this looks very tempting.
