TEMPESTMK5
Good evening For this Gb I have started today a Fujimi Spitfire XIV I will try to represent the aircraft flown by the Group Captain ''Johnny'' Johnson https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johnnie_Johnson_(RAF_officer) based at Soltau Germany in April/May 1945 Some book The box art kit The sprues I will use the decals of the Freightdogmodels Spit kit I will use an Eduard set to detail the cockpit , it is designed for the Italeri Spit IX kit but under the closed canopy I think that will be Ok .. I will use an instrument panel from an Eduard kit that I have finished for the Spitfire GB I started to place the sidewalls PE Parts Patrice

Wez
Good choice Patrice, I remember Johnnie Johnson writing about this time in Wing Leader, still a good read (in fact I think I'll dig it out to read post studies). I've got the Fujimi and Sword kits in the stash too Welcome and good luck. 1

Good afternoon Wez I discovered this great pilot many years ago thanks to a documentary on the history of aviation where he spoke of his experience as a fighter pilot at the controls of a Spitfire. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFHmr3w1R1E Best Regards Patrice
TEMPESTMK5
Hello I found in my spare box a few pieces of a Italeri Spit (a seat and its support, a ''floor'' ) yesterday after some dry fitting tests in the fuselage and a "bit" of sanding here and there I painted everything , I glued the Eduard belts on the seat and this morning I placed these parts as well as the instrument panel in the left half fuselage .. well I am quite sure that this does not conform to the real cockpit of a Mk XIV but I think that once the canopy will be glued in place it will do the trick .. DaveyGair
Looking good so far Patrice. I personally like the look of the Griffon engined Spits compared to the Merlin types, but they are all beautiful to the eye... except maybe the extended wing ones 😕 Davey

CliffB
It's looking very good Patrice . These later marks hardly look like Spitfires (if that makes sense!). Cheers

franky boy
Nice work Patrice I never get around to doing it myself but models always look much better when set in a diarama as you’ve done here. James
