Paint It Black (1/72 Hurricane IIC Arma Hobby)

Recommended Posts

Very nice new kit from Polish Arma Hobby company. Easily the best Hurricane kit in the scale. No filler needed if you take some care preparing the parts for gluing. The only shortcoming is clear parts that are a bit on the thick side.

I've managed to spoil the original LK-A letters so these on the model are from quite old Legato kit.

And I decided to do almost no weathering as I like this livery clean.

She is very sexy in overall black.

Thank you Patrick! This overall black Hurricane I've wanted to put on the shelf from the very beginning of my modelling hobby. So it took me less than 50 years to make it true. :penguin:

I thought the markings looked familiar.   😉

her larger "twin"

Thanks Gary! Her larger twin is very attractive! Looks like elder sister!  :speak_cool:

Excellent Hurricane with potent artillery on board!

She was flown in 1941–1942 on intruder missions and as you can see, she was equipped with a VHF radio set = no aerial wire (the VHS antenna was integral to the mast).

Beautiful modelling, though!

Kind regards,

Thanks Joachim! I've wondered about that. And it is not very hard to correct my mistake. I'll do that.

As will I!    Thanks Joachim from me as well 🍻.   And to think I struggled to get that right...

Hello

Thank you for the picture.

Not VHS (Video Home System) but VHF (Very High Frequency) 😀

But you're right : the higher the frequency, the shorter the antenna.

Thank you Patrick, for spotting my typo – a late evening slip of the finger! Corrected now… 😉

Kind regards,

As a returning aircraft modeller, it's great to know about the kit, too.

Thank you, Mark! I can really recommend this kit for return to hobby as it's assembly is straightforward and needs minor efforts to achieve a nice result.

Neat work there Val. It looks great.

I've got one of these on the go at the moment, but it's stalled as I just can't decide on the paint and markings.
