Bristol Bulldog MK.II - Airfix 1/72

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Estonian aviation from the thirties.
I used a old edition of Airfix Bulldog, all parts looks near perfect not like in the second kit I build now from the 1995.
I add seat belts from Eduard, instrument panel from Yahu and made some cockpit details from scratch.
Decals from old Blue Rider edition, glue doesn't work any more.
Radio antennas diden't look good but....

I wish people would stop posting pictures of real aircraft and saying they are models 🙂

Seriously I can't believe this is the old Airfix kit.

Which metallic paint did you use?

That is truly wonderful. So much to like going on there and interesting you talk about the earlier mould being that much better than later offerings. Must get one for myself.

Cheers and well modelled.. Dave

I used Gunze: Mr.Metal MC-218 Aluminium on Mr.Finishing black surfacer 1500 for the linen areas and on gloss dark blue for metal parts. Exhaust various paints.

I've seen a number of superb builds of this old kit over the years but few have been as good as this. Beautifully modelled!

Cheers

Absolutely lovely. You've shown what can be done with these older kits.

Evening Jerzy -

Love what you have done to this classic Airfix kit of the Bulldog - great to see some different markings as well.   I always enjoy seeing a well built model biplane!

Regards

Dave
