Marklo
I don’t normally come over to this side of the house much but I do like the occasional AFV build, this marks a milestone in that it will be my first 1/35 AFV in around twenty five years. It will be largely OOB, but weathered a bit, no PE, no fiddling but I can’t stand the boring kit olive drab schemes, so either a Syrian or Ethiopian camo I think. First off a coat of desert yellow, the scheme I’m thinking of is desert yellow with green patches and black stripes.
Vaastav
If you don't mind, may I tag along? Also, since you don't like drab and boring schemes, might I suggest Indian?

Marklo
Interesting. I’m also considering Egyptian and there’s a Czech scheme in green yellow and white that could be a runner too.
Hamden
I'll follow along if you don't mind the T55 is one of the modern iconic tanks in which ever scheme you choose Stay safe Roger
Marklo
Minor update got the running gear assembled. Used a black sharpie for the tyres, much easier than paint. I also think I’ve decided on a Syrian army scheme, more to follow.
Marklo
Fitted the tracks and started on the upper hull. Side by side with my T34, you can see the family resemblance. I’m planning for the T55 to be a lot less lived in than the T34.
Marklo
Progress. Just a little work on some joints and we’re ready for camo. Still dithering on which scheme

Marklo
Camo on. Just needs to retouch the road wheels, some detail painting and weathering. Edited July 3, 2020 by Marklo

Marklo
Markings, cleaned up the overspray on the road wheels, then some restrained chipping and some AK grime. I may try to add a little more streaking and rust then pigments for dust. I’m going for a fairly clean overall look. Marklo
A little rust added, them some grime followed by crushed chalk pastels painted on as a slurry. Might take a bit if the dust off but overall pleased with the look and just a varnish coat away from finished.
