Israeli Air Force Museum, Hatzerim 2008

Recommended Posts

After gorging on the modern day Israeli Air Force, day three of our tour was to the Israeli Air Force Museum, somewhere that had been on my list of places to visit for a long, long time. Now, you know that thing when you finally get to do something you've always wanted to and it turned out to be a bit meh?

Well, this wasn't one of those.

This was everything I had hoped for, and much more besides. So let's dive in.

The museum area had a small number of current aircraft as part of Hatzerim's own open day, which I won't dwell on, except for this F-16A Netz:

Six and a half kills against Syrian aircraft AND a mission mark showing its participation in the Osirak raid. Not bad at all.

In part 2 I will move the story along to the 1970s.

I agree with Alpha Delta 210, what a great collection of aircraft most which look in VGC despite the ravages of the Middle East sunlight,

Part 2, and into the 1970s and beyond:

And if that was still not enough, then we found the storage area. That's your trailer for part 3.
