Kugisho (Yokosuka) D4Y2-S Judy (Suisei) Nightfighter. 1/48

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

It's been a long time that I don't have posted a model here.

I finally finished this model which I started in 2007 and which had been on standby for many years.

This is the Kugisho D4Y2-S Judy Nightfighter from FineMolds at 1/48.
The paints used are the new lacquers from Tamyia - LP31 Dark Green 2 IJN and LP32 Light Gray IJN.
The hinomarus were painted with a house mixture and masks.
The exhaust traces were made with airbrush + pigments.
The decals are of the brand REVI Decals 48002 Japanese SchrägeMusik.
The figures: The pilot comes from a box of IJAA & IJNA Modelkasten figurines - The navigator with his bag comes from the original FineMolds box and the mechanic has been transformed and comes from an old Tamiya box.
The wheeled fire extinguisher comes from the Hasegawa box with the Isuzu tank truck.
Make way for photos.

Really nice display and airplane...  I love SchrägeMusik on airplanes and especially Japanese examples of it...  Great weathering and great subject...

Thank you Tokyo Raider.

Nicely done.

The base sets the scene nicely.

I don't mind modelling with a bit of music in the background either, but find wearing a mask gets in the way of seeing the model I'm painting.🤪😆:giggle:

Sorry been in iso too long.

Thanks Red Dog.     I also always model with a background of music.
