Hi all,

So to go with these two tiny TIE Fighters, I've decided to have a go at this one which was a Christmas present from my lovely wife 😍

So here's the saucer halves primed in Black.

And made a start on the small part of the interior which is given. Again, just blown away by the detail moulded by Bandai.

Hi all and a bit more done here.

 

Little interior section all done. A mix of painting and some of the kit decals. I found them really thick and didn't react to any decal solution I had.

And made a start on the upper saucer. That's just Tamiya Matt White.

So haven't posted on this one in a while as it got pushed to the side while I got stuck into group builds through the year. But she's back now!

 

When I left it, I had only started painting the saucer halves.

Both sides now done. It's Tamiya XF-1 over a black primer coat.

Then glossed up - I painted some of the blue markings and used the kit decals on some others. I found the Bandai decals to be good, really strong colour and settled down over the bumps with repeated coats of decal solution. She also got a light panel wash with Flory Models wash.

The lower half was left a little more weathered than the top.

Then on to the lighting kit for the engines and cockpit - a friend put me on to Captain Jacks Models and Chris there was really great to deal with. This is just the basic engine LED set with flicker and a backlighter for the cockpit.

Thanks all. And with the last bits added and a coat of Satin varnish, she's done.

Nice job demo,  I like the weathering, a nice balance of dirty bits where it needs it, but restrained elsewhere.
