Dermo245
Hi all, So to go with these two tiny TIE Fighters, I've decided to have a go at this one which was a Christmas present from my lovely wife 😍 Bandai_Solo_Falcon_box by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr What's in the box.. Bandai_Solo_Falcon_contents by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Compared to the Revell Easy kit.. Bandai_Solo_Falcon_size by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Started with the cockpit - primed Bandai_Solo_Falcon_Cockpit by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Started painting. Great detail on those tiny seats. Dermo245
So here's the saucer halves primed in Black. Bandai_Solo_Falcon_hull_1 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr And made a start on the small part of the interior which is given. Again, just blown away by the detail moulded by Bandai. Dermo245
Hi all and a bit more done here. Little interior section all done. A mix of painting and some of the kit decals. I found them really thick and didn't react to any decal solution I had. IMG_Bandai_Solo_Falcon_interior 1 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr IMG_Bandai_Solo_Falcon_interior 2 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr And made a start on the upper saucer. That's just Tamiya Matt White. Dermo245
So haven't posted on this one in a while as it got pushed to the side while I got stuck into group builds through the year. But she's back now! When I left it, I had only started painting the saucer halves. Bandai_Solo_Falcon_paint_1 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Both sides now done. It's Tamiya XF-1 over a black primer coat. Bandai_Solo_Falcon_paint_2 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Then glossed up - I painted some of the blue markings and used the kit decals on some others. I found the Bandai decals to be good, really strong colour and settled down over the bumps with repeated coats of decal solution. She also got a light panel wash with Flory Models wash. Bandai_Solo_Falcon_paint_3 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Bandai_Landos_Millennium_Falcon_wip_2 by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr The lower half was left a little more weathered than the top. Bandai_Landos_Millennium_Falcon_wip by Dermot Moriarty, on Flickr Then on to the lighting kit for the engines and cockpit - a friend put me on to Captain Jacks Models and Chris there was really great to deal with. This is just the basic engine LED set with flicker and a backlighter for the cockpit. Dermo245
Thanks all. And with the last bits added and a coat of Satin varnish, she's done. Really, really enjoyed this one with typical Bandai engineering & fit. TristanR
Nice job demo, I like the weathering, a nice balance of dirty bits where it needs it, but restrained elsewhere.
