JCH
Hi All, This was my first build in 30+ years. I'd kept the kit all these years. The decals were toast but the rest of the model, including the tires, were in surprisingly good shape. I actually finished it late last Summer but I guess it's taken some time away before I plucked up the courage to post. That and I wasn't a member on this site. All I see are issues but I also see a completed build. I was very pleased with the paint and decal on the upper cowling. The line of yellow came through nicely between the black and white. This was 98% out of the box as I was re-learning the craft. I did a few small customization on the engine, cockpit, and brakes. It was definitely like reconnecting with an old friend. Years had passed but it was like we'd never been apart. I've never been a big fan of yellow. This combination has grown on me. Needless to say there's a bit of mismatch in shade on the nose cap. Oh well. Here you go! Thanks for looking! JCH

Andy J
The only issues I see are the ones you pointed out had you not mentioned them I may well have not noticed. Concentrate on the positives and there are lots of those I think you've produced a cracking build one you should be proud of. I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Redstaff
Really nice build. and a nostalgic trip for me as I built one of those in the '80s I don't know what happened to it though, I must have had a moment of madness in a house move and binned it 🙄 Ian

This kit was a "survivor". Thanks all! Edited May 21, 2020 by JCH
Bengalensis
It's looking great. It's a lovely car, both the model and the real one.
Kitkent
A very nice build! I particularly liked the engine/suspension area, what did you use for the chrome? Chris.

Flat Aluminum, Silver Leaf, some Gloss Aluminum. I did pin wash most parts with a home brew of flat black, chrome silver, heavily thinned. I need to remove the cowling for a cockpit and engine/transmission/suspension pics.
Mr Mansfield
Lovely build from a great motor racing era! All the metal parts look very realistic & I would never have noticed the shade difference on the nose one if you hadn’t pointed it out

Oz modeller
Newby here. What a fantastic result! Difficult to tell if looking at the real thing or a scale model. I've just got this kit so plenty of inspiration here to follow.

Jo NZ
Not completely out of the realms of possibility that a replacement nose may look slightly different... I remember some 1975 March F3 noses that had a pronounced step. The March team put in a lot of effort to make sure that all noses fitted all cars (Nillson and Ribiero drove very very close to each other, resulting in several breakages). So a shade difference in an F1 team of the period is not a biggie. Martini Brabham-Alfa for instance said that the red was a specific mix, but used an Alfa colour rattle can spray for invisible touch ups... Go figure. nearsightedjohn
Gorgeous job on this big kit. I’m really impressed with all the natural metal and chromed components on the engine/ chassis/ wheels, no Signs of Tamiya “toy look” chrome! You have talent sir! Keep building & posting please! Vesa Jussila
Excellent job and interesting car. Somehow I like more this period than what is currently going on.
kapam
Amazing! Looks for-all-the-world like the real thing! Certainly (for mine) an era of F1 cars looking very beautiful and individualistic. Well done! 👍👍👍
Martin1962
That's a superb build. I really like the detail around the exhausts and the cabling in the cockpit. My own effort:
alteregoni
That is some seriously great stuff there. Didn't realize that you can make so good looking stuff via rattle can!

F1Fan
Beautiful. I have always fancied doing Large scale with an insane amount of detail but could never justify the extra cost, I think I’ll have to keep an eye out on auction sites. spfparker
Just acquired one of these. First built one back in the 80's the days before I had the use of airbrushes or rattle cans, decent masking tape and before superglue! Made a half reasonable job of it for the time - but still hugely frightened by the demarcation line between the white and yellow around the cockpit....!!
