Michael Taylor
I don't normally post WIP photos but I figured I'd better before the Airfix data decals hit this nice finish.
neilg
I'm like a magpie - I love shiny! That's a beautiful finish. Does Alclad go on naturally like that, or do you have to buff it to get a mirror finish?

In this case I used Alclad gloss black base thinned, applies as glossy a coat as I could then, when dry, buffed it out with Novus #2 plastic polish. Applying the alclad metal in 1 mist coat and 1 covering coat (it took a whole bottle of polished aluminum to cover this beast) it has a shine but it is enhanced with a good buffing. It doesn't take much buffing at all.
71chally
Superb finish there, really looks like its made from metal. Looks like you've added some fine detail to the cannon muzzles?
Paulaero
Stunning Finish, fresh from the factory or more likely 'Bulled up' for an airshow ??
Michael Taylor
Once the missiles are on I'll move it over to the finished section On 5/20/2020 at 4:51 AM, 71chally said: Superb finish there, really looks like its made from metal.
