Questions about figures.

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know if Garden Gnomes count as a Figure here.  In other words could I do a WIP for a Gnome. I have a custom mold of one and want to paint it loosely based on Pink Floyds “The Gnome” description of Grimble Crumble. Its a song on their 1967 debut “The Piper at the gates of Dawn” album.

I say it counts. No real difference to a model of Wallace, or Gromit or any other figure

There have been resin Minions done as Judge Dread and the like, so go for it

It's too late - you've promised now.

I put an origami crane in the 'aircraft' RFI forum and no one complained.*

* not to me anyway.

Such questions beg to be answered in a very positive way. Remember that a true WIP should contain photos of the complete build process, form mixing the plaster for the little monster to the painting and glazing. I'm surrounded by a nation of Gnome lovers who have examples in their gardens that would have been certified as only suitable for over 21s not too long ago, so it would be interesting to view your custom example.

Well now, I bin thunking a think

Does the OP know what type of Gnome he has and is it the right type for a Crumble?

After all there are

Garden Gnomes

Home Gnomes

House Gnomes

Flower box Gnomes

Window box Gnomes

Space Gnomes

Homeless Gnomes

Bin Lorry Gnomes

the list goes on and on. . . . . .

Hello BK... So here is my Gnome, he is designed to sit on something(not included). I was thinking rock or stump in the Garden. gOmZCkW.jpg

And the lyrics to the song. FYYLuQM.jpg

The second verse contains the brief description of Scarlet Tunic, and Blue-Green Hood. So the rest will be up to me. I am planning on placing some reference to Pink Floyd on him somewhere, possibly the pipe or his pouch.  Leather for the pouch and shoes, will need to study the gnomes in existence for his pants and other details.

ah, now what you have there is the very rare and seldom seen Leprechaun Gnome.

Easily identified by him having a clay pipe and shoulder bag

I'm shure he'll be happy to be Crumble but look out for mischief from him during the course of the painting

OK, he doesn't look that bad. Don't know if it's of any use to you, but here's a link to a collection of photos for mostly German Gnomes (Gartenzwerke), that may provide some inspiration.
