1/350 Trumpeter HMS Hood with;

  • Eduard PE
  • Flyhawk detail set which includes Pom Poms and brass main armament barrels,
  • Various resin details form NorthStar including, 4" guns, quad Vickers, bridge equipment, searchlights, HACS, Pom Pom directors  and crew.
  • White Ensign resin main turrets
  • Painted in ColourCoats enamels
  • Sea painted in artists acrylics with clear gel medium top coat and cotton wool spray 
  • Rigging in Caenis 700 and Uschi line

 

WIP here; Thanks to everyone who followed the WIP and gave advice and feedback 👍   

 

Lot's of pics because of the size - mounted on the sea base she's 90cm long!

Nice kit, and great as a base to add detail to. Hope you like the pics as much as I enjoyed building her.

Nick that is truly inspirational !!

 

Love the little dio's with figures

The rigging an artistic masterpiece

Nailed the seascape 

As I scrolled through the pics I was thinking this could be the real thing. Then you went to black and white and it was real!!

etc. etc.

I agree - Magnificent.  Detail everywhere - you just keep looking.

Paint finish, rigging and figures particularly carry the day.

The B&W pics look to be WW2 originals.

I'd love to see this in the flesh.

That is one of the most outstanding pieces of maritime modelling I've seen here or anywhere Nick,top quality model engineering.

Superb Nick. That is excellent job. Water efekt very realistic. 

If on this photo you have a camera bit lower I can think it is a real one.
