franky boy
Hi everyone Let me present my Sabre Mk4 OOB converted from the Hasegawa F-86 f30 kit in 1/48 scale. Finished in the colours of the CO’s aircraft of 3 squadron based at Gielenkirchen in 1954. Paints are Hataka orange line. Decals from Eagle Strike. Flory Models dark dirt wash and Tamiya satin varnish. Thanks also to @sabrejet for the advice on the particulars of RAF Sabres. Steve 1602
That’s really nice! Lovely finish and something different to the natural metal that I most closely associate with Sabres. Yours has definitely encouraged me to put one of the new Airfix Sabres on my wish list!
bryanm
Very nice - one of the RAF's forgotten fighters slowly coming back into the light. I will wait for the Airfix one. I wonder why they put the paint demarcation line so high on the forward fuselage? I go that wrong when I made the 1/72 Airfix one.
ForestFan
That’s a very fine build and finish, lovely markings too. Hopefully the to be released Airfix kit will allow us lesser mortals to try and get something approaching your fine kit
robgizlu
Lovely clean build - I rather think it deserved a slightly more sympathetic background Rob

It would be nice to have a slatted wing version but somehow I doubt we get it. 9 hours ago, Ian said: Nicely done.... Deja-vu - My version from last year. Ian. Nice work on yours also Ian. I didn’t realise that the pitot was red in this aircraft. Will have to sort that out. 9 hours ago, Steve 1602 said: That’s really nice! Thanks Steve. Agreed, I think the sabre looks pretty good in RAF colours. I think the new Airfix kit is going to be a good seller. James

Gene K
That's a superbly constructed and finished model!! I also look forward to the Airfix release ... but I also looked forward to the 1/72 Phantom and was disappointed. Hopefully the classic Sabre will be better researched and detailed.
