MFH 1/9th Brough Superior

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I can't say I've enjoyed this build. Something has gone awry every step of the way.

Anyway, she's finished now, and I'm finally fairly happy with the result.

Thanks for all the kind words folks.

For the record, I'm not a bike guy either, this is my second bike build.

This is a model of the bike that Lawrence of Arabia (T E Lawrence) was killed riding in 1935. You now know as much about it as I do - I just liked the look of it :)

I'd love to see a model that went smoothly.  You need to add a shot with fingers so the scale truly shows.  I'll be damned if you didn't photograph a real bike!  Beautiful photography too.

This needs an airfield as a background, maybe with a Bristol Fighter in the distance, then you'd never know it wasn't actually T.E. Lawrence's final steed.  Quite superb.

What can I say that hasn't already been said? That really is a stunner.

Personally never much cared for the Brough, more of a Vincent HRD man myself. Everytime I see one I recall the late George Bishop whose father took him to Brooklands, stood him by a Brough

and said with a sense of awe, "That's a Brough Superior." And young George immediately thought, "Superior to what?"

I am a bike guy [or was, now inactive] and I have seen a lot of Broughs when I was a member of the VMCC in the UK in the 60's.

Put a photo of your model alongside photos of some of those displayed in the Montague Motor Museum and I don't reckon I could tell the difference

That is one superlative build !!

I'm so glad that you persisted with this one til' it was finished. I'm into my vintage bikes and this to me is a very high quality build. You have not only superbly captured the finish of a vintage Brough but some of your photos could fool many into thinking it was the full size machine.

Regards

Mike

Definitely a thing of beauty. Very realistic indeed. A couple of years ago in a Lincoln pub I found a dozen of these, plus two Brough cars. Superb to hear and see.

  • 3 weeks later...

So nice. Looks amazing

So nice in fact, my wallet fell open and 2 days later the kit arrived.

Guess that's what happens when your locked in a Heathrow hotel room for 2 weeks with little to do.

That was a week ago.

Last night noticed a lot of bits missing from the kit.

Dunno what happened, whether its a factory mistake, or a problem at hiroboy.

As I'm off to china tomorrow for work guess I will have to wait for hiroboy to come up with a solution,

cheers for sharing

Paul
