jonf45
Hi all, Just finished this HobbyBoss 1:72 Grumman F-14B, finished as BuNo.162919 "Devil 101" of VF-74, USS Saratoga, US Navy, circa 1992. Built OOB, and finished in the Light grey scheme using Mr Color 338. this was my first attempt at a Hobbyboss kit, and overall i quite liked it, most parts went together well, but i had issues with the canopy fit and large decals (probably me!!). Have ordered an Academy F-14 to see how they compare (have read theyre the best of the easily available ones iin the UK??!!), did the old Revell one a few years back (the darker grey one in the bottom pic!) and thought that was a very enjoyable kit. Would certainly get another HB Tomcat again though, especially for the price and range of decals included HobbyBoss 1:72 F-14B 162919 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr HobbyBoss 1-72 F-14B 162919-17 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr HobbyBoss 1:72 F-14B 162919 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr HobbyBoss 1:72 F-14B 162919 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr HobbyBoss 1:72 F-14B 162919 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr HobbyBoss 1:72 F-14B 162919 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr HobbyBoss 1:72 F-14B 162919 by Jonathan Francis, on Flickr Thanks for looking Jon
Jon020
Very nice Jonathan. I'm just in the process of fettling my first Hobbyboss tomcat, an A model, after deciding that I'd tackle this one first to see what it presented me with. Yours looks lovely.... hope mine turns out as well. cheers Jonathan H

SAT69
I can remember when VF-74 first got their F-14Bs and I thought they tail markings were sharp. Your model is striking and I wouldn't be too critical of the canopy fit. It really doesn't look bad at all.
