That wasn't true at the time.  But it is now!!!  :lol:

And we're done.

 

I was convinced that the rod on the starboard fin tip would get broken off at some point in the build.  However it survived all the way through... almost.  I broke it literally twenty minutes before the end of the build! :wall:   I've replaced it with a short length of stretched sprue.

I had thought of plastering the airframe with the plethora of stencils that early F-15s carried as well as replacing the jet exhausts.  However, I decided against it as this was supposed to be a fun legacy build.  That also explains why there is no detail painting on the ordnance.

 

Despite being over forty years old, this kit still holds up quite nicely today.  Airfix will be re-releasing it shortly and I would be interested to build another with modern decals.
