Lightningboy2000
I know I've already commented but I was brush painting for years & I would never be able to achieve anything like that sort of finish! I wouldn't bother getting an airbrush, you definitely don't need one! All the best, Martin

I don't see many wing-fold jobs that haven't used aftermarket resin, so my hat's off to you. The figures are extremely good also. I too have used the new/old RAF & USAAF personnel for posing with aircraft and I agree the soft (vinyl?) plastic is tricky to work with. Did you use any sort of undercoat or primer to get the paint to stick to them? Anyway, extraordinarily good work! 👍👍👍 Hi kapam. Thank you very much for your comments - you are very kind. It is a shame that Airfix continues to use this type of plastic for their figures - the actual detail on the figures is actually quite good. The only thing I do is use several coats of very, very thinned Revell Aqua Anthracite as a base coat. It does take a bit to get it to cover and handling of the figures rubs the paint off. I leave the figures on their bases until they are painted. Thank you again. Kind regards, Stix

The only reason I can paint with brushes the way I do is because I watched a lot of videos to see how the real experts do it and I have practiced and experimented a lot!! Also - I haven't got an airbrush because I don't have anywhere to use one...…..and I actually enjoy the process of brush painting. I'm not intending to get an airbrush anytime soon. Thank you again. Those wing folds are brilliant and at least double the number of models you can fit on a shelf! BONUS! Hi Haratio. Thank you very much for your kind comments. Good point about aircraft models with folded wings saving space! Just like the real thing! Thank you. Kind regards, Stix
