Lockdown builds... 1/48 Sukhoi Su-7BKL from OEZ & Saab JA/AJ/Sk37 Viggen from SH/Tarangus

Recommended Posts

Lockdown time... Some free time for modelling. Yes I'm not only a rumourmonger but also a modeller.

I went to my bench and had a look at the too numerous started and unfinished projects (Am I the only one ?) and for an undefinite reason I choosed that f. vintage OEZ 1/48th Sukhoi Su-7BKL/BMK  "Fitter-A" - ref.02
I started assembling this kit years ago but was not really satisfied to say the least with the parts fitting, rather ironic for a Fitter but...

This time I think it's ok. After a lot of sanding and rescribing, I finally initiated the painting works.

Pre-shading time

Then MR. Paint for the dark green and the light grey-blue, AKAN for the sand and radome green

After appropriate Klir and wash, she's ready for decalling with Hi-Decal Line ref. 4812

That's the moment I've discovered the Microset stock is empty... Grrrr. Waiting my order: 3 bottles, one for use, two for stock.

Also still waiting the release from the long promised (since February 2017...) Kovozávody Prostějov 1/48th Sukhoi Su-7U/UMK "Moujik" link

And as it was too difficult to choose the variant, I've in the meantime started a trio of 1/48th Tarangus/Special Hobby Viggen: JA37 grey camo, AJ37 in splinting, Sk37 in progress. But that's another story.

Wow!

Yeah realy, you also seem to be a modeller! And a decent one that is!

Love your subjects!

3 Viggens that is something to be mentioned positively of course...but the fitless Fitter of course even tops that for me :)

:partytime: for "home-be "  what a fitting name by the way

Three Tarangus Viggens and a OEZ Su-7? You don't pick the easy kits :blink2: They all look to have been well made though :goodjob:

Hey, you really build some kits, who knew (sorry, that's just tongue-in-cheek :P).

I have the Su-7 too (x2) in the stash and know it is not an easy kit so I can only congratulate to this clean build. The camo looks downright superb, which markings will it receive?

Cheers

Markus

No I too have this problem.

Really lovely job in the Sukhoi.

Always liked the Viggen looking forward to seeing how they turn out.

The Tarangus/Special Hobby Viggen are IMO rather easy kits. You've to think twice and test-assemble before gluing and then everything goes smoothly.

From the glorious Soviet VVS more precisely from the Krasnodar-Tsentralny based 802nd Training Aviation Regiment.

To put alongside my Su-9 "Fishpot-B" kit: link.

In progress. Several elements like canopy, fuel tanks, rocket pods & tail planes are not yet glued onto the model and are here just for the photo session.
