Graham T
The Valiant is nearing completion. I really didn't fancy an over all white scheme option as I find a white finish extremely hard which left me with the aluminium or low level camo options. I wanted the camo but was daunted by the idea of masking the pattern prior to spraying. So I sprayed the white lowers & medium sea grey on the uppers as per usual & then applied the green disruptive pattern by brush. I haven't done this for about 40 years since the days of applying the pattern over an insufficiently cured base colour which invariably resulted in an ugly mess but with which I was entirely satisfied at the time! In this instance, I allowed a full day & a half for the MSG to go off before attempting the brush work & I'm actually pleasantly surprised by the result. I may do it more often!
David Womby
I reached the same conclusion a while ago and brush on the dark green but find it can be tricky with acrylics. Yours looks really good. What green paint did you use and how many coats? David

The first is hard because you're following the pattern, guided by the colour plans but the second is much quicker.
Timmas
I agree with David, it does look good. I have a similar question as I use enamels too. Did you thin the green before brush painting it? If so, what was the ratio?

I did not intentionally thin the green but it was slightly thinned because I tip any paint remaining after I've sprayed back into the tin so this means that some of my previously opened tins are slightly thinner than normal. However, properly mixed Xtracolour is perfectly brushable straight from the tin. Hopefully I'll get the decals on tomorrow & a coat of varnish the following day.
