Airwork FRU Attackers 1955-57

You are probably aware of the very lovely black Hunters, Hawks and Sea Hawks operated amongst other types over the years by FRADU and its predecessor organisation Airwork FRU, based at Bournemouth Hurn. 

Does anyone know if the Attackers they used briefly between 1955 and 1957 were also black? I haven't been able to find a photo.

Never seen a black Attacker,as far as i am aware they were in grey and sky colours.

@fatal bert is correct, British Attackers only ever wore the EDSG/Sky colour scheme.

Hunter GA11 T8c were Extra Dark Sea Gray & White, Light Aircraft Gray & Docker Blaze Red,later Signal Red, Post Falklands Dark Sea Gray overall but never Black overall.

Only black Hunters I can think of were the 111sqn display team and the four two seaters used by the Buccaneer units in the early 90s.

I can't find any photos of the Attackers based at Hurn, but the Hampshire Airfields website yealds this:

WP297 O35 29-11-55 w/u at Hurn by 12-56,dep by road 15-3-57

WZ291 O37 17-1-56 13-2-57. 

There's no indication of colour schemes though. 

A quick trawl through the ABPIC site gives no images of the Attacker, but does have a few photos of Sea Hawks in an overall colour scheme that looks to be much darker than EDSG which could possibly be black. So if they were so painted, why not the Attacker.

I think the Attackers were out of service when the black painted aircraft appeared.The RNVR stopped using them in 1957.

The FRU & ADTU operated Sea Hornets, Sea Furies,  Attackers, Sea Venoms, Scimitars and Hunters between them, only the Sea Hawks were painted black.

Actually, when I did the @ thing, that's what the auto suggest threw up. No intent to cause any offence at all.

There is one photograph of an Attacker at Airwork receiving a fresh respray of EDSG over Sky in the ‘Attacker From the Cockpit’ book. It doesn’t clarify at which Airworks site it is though as they were at Brawdy and St David’s as well as Hurn.
