This is to celebrate - and commemorate - the end of the Second World War, one of the most significant and traumatic events in global history. The GB will commence on Friday 8 May (the anniversary of VE Day) and will finish at 2359 UK local time on Saturday 15 August (the anniversary of VJ Day). It is a slightly shorter GB than usual. but we thought it was important to incorporate the two significant dates. The rules for the GB are: Open to any subject that was used on land, sea and air from any participant in either theatre. Equipment and units in use in the month prior to VE Day is acceptable but they must be in the order of battle for VE Day. Equipment and units in use for a month after VJ Day are acceptable but again they must be on the order of battle for VJ Day. Equipment and units present in the occupying forces are acceptable (providing they were on the OrBat), European ones will have a backstop of VJ-Day. Captured equipment taken over by the victors are allowed providing they fall within the timelines permitted. Equipment used to repatriate PoW's are acceptable, again, providing they fall within the timelines. The onus will be on the modeller to provide evidence that their subject is in keeping with the rules. All builds must be less than 25% complete to be eligible. If you are unsure, post a photo in the chat thread and one of the hosts will make a decision. To be eligible to take part in the post-GB poll, all builds must be documented in the GB forum and have at least three but no more than five photos posted in the Gallery thread. No buying, selling or want ads in the GB forum. There are other forums available for this. And finally. the most important rule of all. Have fun! It's The Law!
