Popular Post _alfisti_
Hi all. Just finished my second "Corona-Lock-Down-Modell"😁. I´m in my 7th week at home now and just started kit no. 3. It´s the nice 1/72 scale Airfix kit with only little extras. A seat from CMK, BL755 from ResKit and the nozzles were taken from the CMK engine set. Paints are mainly from Tamiya and Alclad II. I used the decal version from the kit for XZ133 of No.1 Squadron onbord HMS Hermes. So long... Daniel Edited April 29, 2020 by _alfisti_ added the scale ;-) 75

Booty003
Wow Daniel, that is one of the best Harriers that I have ever seen!! The paintwork, weathering and lovely chipping effect is just perfect. You could almost imagine the South Atlantic weather battering the airframe! Great skill there buddy. Which Tamiya colours did you use as they look perfect. There are two different shades of xf-13, I think the newer one is a bit brighter, so you maybe have to mix it with some drops of black. 20 hours ago, David Koktavý said: Very nice Harrier. Nice build of a GR3 Harrier, Just one incredibly small accuracy criticism, something I see on a lot of Harrier GR3 builds. (also on GR1/T2/T4 Builds!) The aircraft in the Falklands had guns fitted in the gunpods. Your gunpods depict the pods without guns fitted, as they have the cone shaped wooden barrel blanks fitted to the front of the pods. these should be cut off and "30mm barrel" size holes should be visible. It was usual to fly blanked gunpods on field exercises in Germany, but in general guns in pods were normally fitted to all squadron aircraft, so the wooden cone shaped blanks were seldom seen in practice. Simple 1st generation Harrier gunpod rule; Gunpod with cone shaped wooden barrel blank = empty pod no gun fitted. Gunpod with open barrel apature= 30mm ADEN gun fitted.
