Lex77
Hi, Bit of a late start but will do my best to get it done on time this will be my entry. 20200427_200746 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr Hope to have an update very soon.
zebra
Good luck! I have the same boxing of this kit, from time to time I think about building it but the size of the thing puts me off.
Lex77
Thanks Zebra. It isn't as big as I expected it to be especially with the wings folded. Some aftermarket for this one; 20200428_110453 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Alan P
Very good, best of luck with your build 👍
Lex77
Thanks Alan. Made a start with the interior PE and almost got it done tonight; 20200429_203811 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Jabba
A good start, and good luck.
PZRGREN
I'm following with interest. I have the E-2C original boxing, with the same detail sets. I had to chase Kinetic for the wing fold set seperately as it was missing. The radome size is quite impressive.
Lex77
Thanks guys! This one requires quite some nose weight, manual says 50 gr but read somewhere that especially with the wings folded back you'll need a little bit more. This is approx 80 gr; 20200430_192518 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr Started with the nose, this is about 30 gr; 20200430_203902 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr Not quite enough so I got some more lead in a box which goes on the fuselage on the inside; 20200430_203857 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr So some more weight to be added tomorrow. 6
rob85
Nice work with that PE set! that looks a lot of nose weight do you need to do anything with the UC to strengthen it? Rob
Lex77
I hope the UC can carry the weight. Don't have any AM UC.
exdraken
Yup... that is a challenge! Will follow it for sure!
Lex77
Had some bench time to work on the Hawkeye, mostly working on the seams and engines. What a pita are the engines: 20200503_201207 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr This took me so much time so no extra progress today.
zebra
Doesn't look fun. Maybe mine will stay in the stash a bit longer!
Lex77
Some more time on the bench (but not as much as I want) 20200520_210815 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr 20200520_210837 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Jabba
It may not be as much as you would have wanted, but it is still progress and some very good work with the wing fold areas.

Lex77
Thanks guys! This weeks work, even managed to get a little bit of paint on some of the flaps 20200527_204806 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Lex77
Some more progress; Unfortunately all the noseweight (80-100 gr) I added doesn't seem to be enough! 20200607_195722 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr Painted in the overall colour. 20200607_201553 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr
Andwil
Looking good despite the tail heaviness. AW
helios16v
You might be able to do the tail hook in the deployed position to act as your prop rod (assuming you haven't already installed it in a stowed position). I don't know about the E-2 specifically, but it was not uncommon for a tail hook to be sitting on the deck while performing routine maintenance (14/28 day lube jobs).

Lex77
Didn't make it on time. Got to the decal stage but only got one side done. 20200614_203547 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr 20200614_203600 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr 20200614_203607 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr The decals for the props were a bit short (as were the ones for the tail tops) so had to paint the red and white. 20200614_205628 by Lex de Kort, on Flickr

helios16v
Certainly not from a lack of an attempt. Look forward to seeing this one finished, regardless if it makes the gallery.
