Rob Probert 643
I built this Manchester MkI using various sources - the old-tool Airfix Lancaster, Planet Models as well as Paragon Designs. Decals came form the spares box. Regards, Rob 42
JWM 13,634
Very nice result! A truly clean build. A subject familiar to me, recalling warm feelings, I did mine conversion from old (not the oldest, but that from 1980s Airfix Lanc) some years ago, you may find it on RFI... FatFlyHalf 549
One modelling question, follwed by another. Are the red / green port / straboard naviation lights reversed? Or did the Manchester fly backwards? 2

woody37 11,294
Great result using the Airfix fuselage. I did a similar approach using revels fuselage a few years ago. Lovely finish

Remember the aide memoire as taught in ground school 'A little red port left'. Love the model though. I remember an Alan W Hall conversion of the Airfix Lancaster back in the old Airfix Magazine. Copious amounts of balsa wood and talcum powder were used.
72modeler 6,452
That's a very nice Manchester- looks like a new-tool kit, not a conversion! Put the model in front of a mirror and take another photo- that should fix the nav light issue! Mike
IanC 3,352
Great to see one of these. The scalloped edge to the fuselage camo is neatly done.
