plasticmasher
Hi all, someone out there will have the technical knowledge I'm sure, having trouble from photos working out if the tabs on the CR42 elevators are trim tabs, or (my hunch) servo tabs.... I want to pose my elevators down and it's a small detail I'd like to get right. Thanks again, collective brain of BM!👍
Crimea River
According to my copy of the Ali d'Italia publication, they are just straight trim tabs. From the below pic, you can see there is no deflection of the tabs with the elevators down. Servo tabs were usually used on larger planes that needed reduced control forces and I wouldn't think the CR42 would need lighter controls.
