RobL
Hey all Completed my 1./72 Revell Horten Ho 229 today, and I'm thinking about, in the future, what to build to go with it. Due to a lack of space, where possible I have started to display my jet aircraft models in an upright position, on acrylic rods shoved into the exhausts, with the rods attached to a MDF base. I usually put two related models on each base, so for example a F-14 Tomcat and an A-4 Skyhawk, or a Mig-21 and (when I've built it) a Mig-23, or a DH Vampire and an EE Lightning, or a F9F Panther and (when I've built it) a F-86 Sabre. Struggling to think what I could put with my Horten Ho 229, besides a Me 262 or at a stretch a Gloster Meteor. Anyone here any ideas on this? Thanks in advance. FG2Si
How about an Arado Ar234 or possibly a He162? They all used the same Jumo engine so that could tie them together. Carl
Richard E
What about a Messerschmitt Me163 Komet or Heinkel He 162 Salamander or another Luftwaffe '46 paper project ?
dogsbody
Revell also make a Flitzer. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/revell-04300-flitzer--128293 Chris
spruecutter96
If you can get one for a non-ridiculous price, how about a Revell WW2 flying-saucer? Probably wouldn't conform to your display methods, having said that.... Chris.

RobL
Thanks guys. Interesting ideas. Never heard of the Flitzer, now one to me. Think it's a matter of kit availability also, but I'll check out a few of those already mentioned. The Komet looks like a good shout (totally forgot about that aircraft), as far as I've read it was in production, with 370 being made, and even saw service, Special Hobby do one in 1/72 and it's currently dirt cheap, and easy to paint, with the paint options in the kit being all aluminium (would have to find out if that means NMF or aluminium dope, or something else though) rather than the usual mottle camo the Germans tended to use... A little academic as it would never have (controllably) flown. I made postings on this earlier. No matter, it's all fantasy anyway, as is the colour scheme. It should have been finished in RLM 91 and 92.
Wulfman
How about the PM Ho-229 two-seat night fighter, cheap as chips ! (Code PM-220) Wulfman

Imho, the swept wings would nicely complement those of the Horten. Dermot @Dermo245 has some nice pics of his build in his What if thread.
