Awesome!  Well, for pigeons they are.  Nice little models that are much simpler than making your own.

Hey Mike, they'll be the perfect accompaniment for the Gotha G.1  😄

Some call them rats of the sky, or vermin, but love them or loathe them, they get around and are seen everywhere in any town or city, especially where people feed them.

And of course, they served in the armed services with "gallantry and devotion".

Thirty two pigeons have been awarded the Dicken Medal, the Victoria Cross for animals, along with 34 dogs, 4 horses and the famous Simon, HMS Amethyst's cat during the Yangtse Incident. The Dicken Medal was only awarded from 1943 on. Countless millions of animals, including pigeons, served in WW1 with little or no official recognition.

Here is Dicken Medal winner GI Joe's story from the  PDSA website:

"As the Italian campaign in World War II progressed, the village of Calvi Vecchia was liberated by Allied Forces on 18 October 1943, far earlier than expected. An air attack had been scheduled to subdue the German positions earlier that day, yet the 6th London Infantry's advance had been so rapid that they were now in danger of getting caught up in 'friendly fire' if the attack went ahead. G.I. Joe (Pigeon USA43SC6390), a member of the United States Army Pigeon Service, was released with a message to call off the attack. He flew 20 miles in 20 minutes, reaching Allied lines just as the bombers were preparing to take off. His heroics prevented the loss of at least 100 Allied soldiers' lives and countless civilians."

So take your MiniArt plastic pigeon, turn it into a carrier pigeon by sticking a message cylinder to one leg, fabricate a wicker basket or a B-Type Bus mobile loft, and never, ever underestimate a pigeon.

Now then Darling, is the Pigeonneau aux petits pois ready to serve? 🤓
