Oldies (held over for the next KUTA GB)

1. 1/48 scratch Etterich Taube

2. 1/48 scratch Albatross CIX 30%

3. 1/48 scratch Sopwith Swallow

4. 1/72 Airfix HP O/400

5. Revell 1/144 Apache

6. Airfix jeep

KUTA starts soon so all of the above should get a kicking between now and Christmas. Aside from the Albatross there’s only an hour or two left in any of them.

resized_f44fe630-6b7f-41ba-a3ec-f677ed28A bit of progress on my French Dr1 and otherwise chipping away at Me109s and getting my remaining High wing builds done.

 7 to  16 me109s  90%

17&18 two Bristol scout Fs

19. 1/48 Roden Bristol Fighter

20 & 21. two 1/144 phantoms

22 & 23. two 1/244 F14s

24. 1/48 scratch AHRLAC

25.  mr craft T60

26. Graham White type 20

27.  1/48 Morane Solnier n

28.  1/72 Fokker DR1

The five in bold are very close to finished, the scouts need a windscreen and a seat each, the Brisfit, the Morane and the Graham White some rigging, the T60 he remaining tracks and some weathering. Plus I’ll probably finish another two 109s so that’ll be the plan for next week.

resized_4d8064e8-ab38-4e21-b20b-77c7925bThe T60 is almost there, despite me making a meal out of fitting the tracks. Just paintwork and weathering left.

I think I might dust off my Valentine or Cromwell once this is finished, so as to have one AFV in progress, as otherwise I get a bit rusty plus it’s a whole different modelling experience from building aircraft.

  • Marklo changed the title to Cracking the WIP - motoring along could even reach single digits by Christmas!

Ok time to take stock again. Ignoring the KUTA six and the started but still in their boxes six….

1. to 6. me109s  90%

7. 1/48 Roden Bristol Fighter

8 & 9. two 1/144 phantoms
10. & 11. two 1/244 F14s

12. 1/48 scratch AHRLAC

13. Graham White type 20

14.  1/72 Fokker DR1

Anything in bold has one to two hours or less left to finish so all things considered, should get the numbers finally back in control soon enough :) I’m also adamant that I’m not going to start any new projects till the new year.

As for 2022 I’ve signed up for a lot of GBs but I’m going to limit myself in the overall number of builds.

A bit under the weather atm and also busy with the run up to Christmas so not a lot of bench time.

Had a disastrous session yesterday attempting to get primer on the Su15 and the two tomcats. But couldn’t get any of my airbrush’s to spray properly. So major strip down and clean in progress. Btw if anyone has s spare auxiliary lever to donate please let me know (image below)

resized_d43ec75c-2077-4c44-8800-398d7a7athe CIX is now ready for a bit more assembly.

4e72b06d-0b62-4900-b1b2-85839841746b.JPGMy EZ line is here so I’m going to try to get the HP done this week.

resized_9bc780a1-e960-40a1-9190-a803d6d4The two tomcats are primer ready and I’m chipping away at the 109s.

resized_0bb1f221-2134-44cf-929e-972a019aAnd assembly has started on the Sage ( did I mention the Sage ?)

So the plan is to get the 109’s done and the Phantoms and Tomcats moved on this week. The overall plan is to clear out as much hip as possible this year and start the new year with a clear bench.

f99547d3-cb36-49ad-a539-6270fc308ee1.jpeMy Blitzenbuild Tiger is done. Hopefully I’ll get the Yak done today too. Then it’s back to KUTA and the regular WIP. I think I have about ten builds that need minimal work but typical me I’m just nudging  each one, so I may divide and conquer. Oh snd seeing as how the Tomcat GB ends on Sunday I probably should focus on them.
