Desert warrior B25

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

this is my go at the Airfix B-25 decked out as ‘desert warrior’ straight OOB.

The kit is a beaut, I really enjoyed the build and any issues you see are pretty much all down to me! It’s also a tail sitter as I didn’t get enough weight in there.

build thread is below.

painted by brush using tamiya paints, the desert colour looks too dark in all the photos but is lighter in real life! Honest!

i did have an issue with the glazing after using a vinyl mask from p mask, which was frustrating!

thanks to everyone who helped during the build!

hope you like her!

And one just because it’s sunny!

oh my only warnings with this kit are watch the undercarriage as it’s a little weak and the seem of the main body.

cheers all!

stay safe

Great to see this in the RFI eventually!

As I said during the build, excellent paint job   Especially considering that it's all by brush and with Tamiya paints!

Why thanks, it’s the best finish I’ve had yet so really learnt a lot which is helpful!

Beautiful Mitchell ! :worthy:

I do love a Mitchell, I’m already eyeing up more but probably won’t try any more this year. That’s two in the collection so far, I completed a J a few years back.

thanks again for the support guys.

Very nice build.  I built the RAF option, and, yes, mine's a tail sitter too!  I agree it is a very nice kit to build.

Cheers all glad you like it.

The b-25 is one of my favourite twin engines so more in my future and definitely an RAF option

Looks great. I admire your courage brush painting Tamiya...

I used vinyl masks once - never again. Peewit ones are good and not quite as insanely expensive as Eduard.

I have the RAF Mitchell in the stash and am tempted to make a start!

Do it, the kit is great and really enjoyable to build!

Thanks, tamiya have never been an issue for me, I’ve only used humbrol and tamiya, gave Mr Hobby a go and Mig but I didn’t get on with them.

the only other paints I find good for brush painting are citidel for games workshop.
