Stuart Wilson
Hi, I've just ordered another Airfix Buccaneer and was wondering if it can be built as an RAF aircraft from the box (if I can get decals!). I think the forward spine aerial needs to be broader but other than that are there any changes I need to make for an Early RAF aircraft and if so which parts should I use? Otherwise it'll be another RN one and I'll just have to buy the RAF boxing when it comes out. Thanks in advance for any replies Stuart
71chally
Straightforward if you want to build an early RAF one without the bulged bomb door, the RAF only landing light is even in the kit. Definitely worth looking at references when it comes to the aerials etc.
Phone Phixer
To aid any Google searches you do for reference pictures etc, you need to look for Buccaneer S2A. That was the RAF designation equivalent to the Navy S2C.
Robin
Hi Stuart. As far as decals for RAF Buccaneers go, Modeldecals did a number of sets, numbers 26, 57, 109 & 110. Robin.
