Surely there’s a demand in the UK for this? I’m finding that a lot with the better quality/ specialist tools and materials for modelling lately. Looked on ebay.ca and they have it. Looks like it is being shipped from Australia. https://www.ebay.ca/itm/ModelKasten-Metal-Cable-Rigging-for-1-700-Battleship-Extra-Fine-0-047mm-x-5m/401898326961?hash=item5d9301cbb1:g:BmIAAOSwaFddimnE Hope I'm not breaking any rules here.
Gisbod
Thanks Grant, I was hoping for somewhere closer! I have however now ordered some from Hobbylink Japan with an express (read expensive!) courier option. Guy
Gisbod
Quite a bit further along, although I’ve had the usual headache with painting/ photo etch dilemmas. I tried to do as much as possible before painting which is fine, but as the decks are a different colour that involved a lot of fiddling about and most fell off at some stage only to be re re glued after which rather defeated the point! It’s a all a learning process! I think my next build will be to paint everything neatly and attach the railings last thing. What do you do? The obligatory ‘scale’ shot: Cheers, Guy
ArnoldAmbrose
Gidday Guy, that's superb work, particularly with the railings. Regards, Jeff.
Courageous
Those PE railings are seriously impressive. Stuart
Chewbacca
Great work. I'm very firmly in the paint off the model then attach, simply because my masking skills are utter rubbish. Yes, that means that you get areas where the CA shows through but I find that a final couple of coats of matt coat usually sorts that.
beefy66
Guy that is looking very neat so far you can see the details starting to come through already as to the railings I’m with @Chewbacca paint the rails and then attach then touch in any areas that need it Stay Safe beefy

Thanks, yes that’s looking like the way ahead, they’re just too delicate to build round. I’ll get lots of practice with the main deck & superstructure railings! Thanks too @beefy66 ! Turrets done! Gisbod
Thanks, I’m having a lot of fun anyway although I think the railings and rigging to come will be the deal breaker. I’ve received some Modelkasten 0.047mm (!) line, it will be interesting to see how easy (or not) this is to work with. 2 hours ago, bismarck builder said: hi your a fast builder and the force is strong with you the your photo etch skills are excellent what colour did you use for the after funnel cheers gary r Thanks Gary, Nothing special, just a mix of Vallejo Red + Black Guy
