EE Lightning T4

Recommended Posts

Last of my Lightning trio.

This time a T5 from no. 145 sqn / 226 o.c.u. at RAF Middleton St George (now Teeside Airport) in the mid 1960s. In my opinion the most colourful of Lightning schemes. On the later T5s the training bands were changed from yellow to dayglo orange on some airframes making them even more colourful!

Brush painted with Vallejo Model air polished aluminium and model colour for the red and yellow. Xtradecals to finish the job.

Thanks for looking!

You do beautiful work with the Sword Lightning kits and this one is especially nice, given how colorful it is. Thanks for the information regarding what they're like to build.

Thank you for the kind comments. They are not as easy as say an Airfix or Hasegawa but if you are used to Special Hobby etc then they will pose no problems at all. Also if you can pick them up they are quite reasonably priced.... even cheaper than the new Airfix F. 6
