dov
Hallo again This is my first full interior kit. So, I hope to get along. Does anybody have good sources about this recovery vehicle? I am very pleased for any information. Stay health. Happy modelling
Redcoat2966
Hi Dov I’m working on this one at present.....not for the faint hearted 😳, I have to say.....and coupled with a Voyager PE.....a long project. You really have to study the instructions and based on how you intend to finish it.....change the sequence of building provided by Takom. A lot of dry fitting and imagining next steps and the difficulty in painting and glueing in the next step....if you get my drift. I’m drifting back on to mine next week as my red oxide colours arrived for the internal chassis stage. There’s a lot of component painting as you go along......and weathering, something usually done at the end. As regards resources......there’s a lot on line with general search descriptions. if you pm me your email address, I have a few pdfs that might help regards Simon
dov
Hallo again Now I did some steps ahead- The rear bulkhead you cannot assemble in the step as shown in the instruction. The rear suspension on the right side omits this clearly! Always thinking several steps ahead, which does not clear everything. The track is a different way to assemble. With jigs. Finally, I have to make several segments, which I can take over. The lateral guide prevents slipping the track from the jig to the model. It is possible to handle it. For the steel cable, I will have a look on my stock of cables from rigging. There should be something. I want to leave out copper; it is hard to color it. Stay health. M3talpig
Oh this should be very cool ...so much scope for weathering as these things really took a beating during their life ...can't wait to see what you come up with.
dov
Hallo again Some progress. Track assembly and some external parts assembled. Most important here is the superstructure above the winch and the rear support for using the whinch. In all, the recovery tank is much more challange, than a normal tank. Less photos are available and only mionor instruction about bthe vehicle by itself. So you must grasp. Good so. If you need a challange, so you may go such a way.
