1/48 Barracuda Mk.II - SpHobby

Recommended Posts

Everything is masked, the interior is painted, by the way checking connections.
I made some small elements on the surface that I saw in the pictures. If anyone knows something I have forgotten let them speak now or stop forever. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ˜€
Texts titled "and the window under the cabin is where it is" better to hear at the right time😁😁😁

A lot of detail in your build, I really like what you have done. My Dad was aboard HMS Glory towards the end of WWII and worked on the Barracudas of 837 Squadron, I keep saying that I should build one and your effort has inspired me. Β

Wow!  As someone who has had this very kit sitting on the shelf of doom for at least 5 years, I am very impressed! You have achieved more than me in about a week!  Top stuff§

This is all just rather splendid, especially that work in the cockpit. I have a couple of these in 1/72 in the stash, which will get built at some point, but a build like this on an aircraft such as this, could surely tempt me to acquire one in 1/48.

Β

Am following now with much interest.

I appreciate your opinions but I also have a question.Β What colors to paint individual elements of landing gears. (legs,Β horizontal supports,Β vertical locks between the wing and the chassis).Β Β Almost every photo suggests something different

I still plan 5C - 829 SQ - Tungsten Operation

For the sake of clarity I do not ask about external camo colors

Fabulous build, great job Jurek.

The answer to your question is not fully evident from photos in the Imperial War Museum Collection but the colour seems to be light.Β Β I would suggest either aluminium paint of sky.Β Β Personally I would go for the underside colour sky as it is something I have seen on other FAA aircraft.

PS My Dad hated the Barracuda.Β Β He fell out of one whilst servicing it (aircraft electrician).Β Β He also said they also took too long to crawl out of in the event of an emergency (hanger fire)...
